Thomas R. Warnicke

Thomas Warnicke joined Fieger, Fieger, Kenney, Johnson & Giroux in 2010. He earned his undergraduate degree from James Madison Honors College at Michigan State University. During college, Warnicke received athletic honors in tennis, as well as studying abroad at Cambridge University. After a brief and humbling stint as a professional tennis player, he received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the Detroit College of Law. During law school, Warnicke worked as a law clerk at a business and employment litigation firm, and served as an intern for United States District Court Judges Bernard Friedman and the late Horace Gilmore.

Upon graduation, Warnicke immediately launched his own law firm. Over the next 18 years, The Warnicke Law Firm evolved into an international, multi-attorney Plaintiff's firm specializing in employment and business litigation, commission disputes, civil rights, police misconduct, negligence and personal injury. Warnicke obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements as lead counsel in cases throughout the United States, including Arkansas, California, Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Utah, as well as handling legal matters in Canada, China, England, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and South Korea. After successfully engaging as co-counsel with the Fieger Firm on various cases, as well as handling other legal matters at the firm's request, Warnicke was invited to join FFKJ&G.

Warnicke remains an avid tennis player and is a part-time coach for aspiring local juniors. In 2009, Warnicke obtained a Men's 40 and Over year-end singles ranking of #64 in the United States and was the highest rated player from the State of Michigan.

Law

I have always possessed a burning and unyielding passion to ensure that all people are treated with dignity and respect. My personal life and legal career have been largely guided by the sweeping statement of individual rights found within the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Life

The only thing constant in life is change. Perseverance, resilience and adaptability are the keys to long-term success and happiness.

Lessons

Always strive to do your best (and without excuses). Whether I'm fighting for my client in a courtroom or battling an opponent on a playing field, the only thing stronger than my desire to win is my absolute hatred for losing. Second place is oftentimes simply not good enough.
