Melanie J. Duda

Melanie Duda always had a keen interest in the law. Though she did not take a direct path to the practice of law, her previous work experiences have provided a holistic foundation for her work as a personal injury lawyer. A consummate advocate, Melanie consistently gets results through hard work, determination, and a desire to win. She loves the law for its ability to challenge its practitioners, as it is constantly evolving and requires innovation and adaptability.

Melanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Wayne State University, where she also was a member of the fencing team, serving as women’s team captain for two seasons. After also obtaining her Master’s degree in Anthropology, Melanie attended law school at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. There she was a member of the Law Review, serving as Symposium Editor and receiving the honor of having her work published. She also received the Book Award for Criminal Trial Clinic, as well as a Service Award for Excellence in Tutoring.

In her spare time, Melanie enjoys striving for a healthy lifestyle through cooking, gardening, and running. She actively volunteers in her son’s extracurricular activities, and enjoys outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking, and kayaking. She lives with her partner, with whom she enjoys the above, as well as verbal sparring and debate.
