SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Nationally-known Attorney Geoffrey Fieger announced on Dec. 10, 2014 that he filed a $50 million lawsuit against SMART Bus as a result of the death of Sally LaMay, 37, mother of two, which occurred Nov. 25, 2014.
LeMay was crossing Crooks Road and Maplelawn Dr. in Troy, within the crosswalk, on a green light, in a well-lit area, when she was run down and killed by a SMART Bus.
“SMART busses have been repeatedly involved in serious and fatal accidents over the last several years,” Geoffrey said in a statement. “This obviously indicates a total lack of supervision and training. This tragedy could and should have been prevented.”
The lawsuit was filed in the Oakland County Circuit Court and assigned for trial before Hon. Nancy Grant.
