FIEGER FILES $100 MILLION LAWSUIT AGAINST MICHIGAN GROUP HOME FOR SUFFOCATION DEATH OF CHILD

Jun 23, 2020

Jun 23, 2020

Children running and playing across grass field at day camp.Nationally known trial lawyer Geoffrey Fieger, along with Jon Marko has filed today a $100 Million Dollar lawsuit against Sequel Youth Services and Lakeside for Children, among others, as a result of the suffocation death of Cornelius Frederick, age 16 on May 1, 2020 (25 days before George Floyd’s death),

The suit alleges that Cornelius was suffocated by a staff member, who placed his body weight on Cornelius’ back and chest for 10 minutes, restricting the child’s ability to breathe. As a result, Cornelius suffocated, and his brain suffered massive anoxic (lack of oxygen) damage.

Fieger stated:

“The State of Michigan has pulled the facility license. Governor Whitmer has recognized that Cornelius’ death was ‘senseless, intolerable, and heart breaking’.

The white attorney for the Defendants has a video of Cornelius’ killing and has refused to provide it to the family.

I will not rest until the death of Cornelius and other victimized children are vindicated at the bar of justice. The protection of our most vulnerable must be a top priority. Black lives matter. Black children matter.”

Fieger stated that the Defendant Sequel runs a series of youth facilities in other States, and has been previously cited for misconduct involving children. Fieger urged the Kalamazoo Prosecutor and Attorney General, Dana Nessel, to bring charges against those responsible for Cornelius death.

Nationally known trial attorney Geoffrey Fieger has today filed two (2) suits on behalf of Midland Michigan flood victims. The class action suits were filed in the Michigan Court of Claims and the Midland County Circuit Court. Both suits allege that the owners of the dams, and the State of Michigan were negligent in maintaining the dams. As a result of their negligence, the dams overflowed and collapsed, flooding hundreds of homes and buildings, and emptying existing lakes created by the dams.

Fieger stated: The damages in this case certainly exceed a billion dollars. Most of the losses are uninsured. The citizens of Midland deserve justice, and I will get it for them. I am aware that several out of state law firms have come to Midland to offer their services. Midland citizens know me, they do not know them.

Fieger Law is presently handling all the Legionella cases arising from the Flint Water crisis. Fieger Law represented thousands of victims of downriver flooding in 2006, in the largest flooding class action of its kind. Fieger has also represented victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Dec 17, 2018

Dec 17, 2018

Attorney Geoffrey Fieger and the family of Kenneka Jenkins will hold a

GEOFFREY FIEGER SHARES SECRET OF SUCCESS

Nov 19, 2018

Nov 19, 2018

Renowned Attorney Geoffrey Fieger recently spoke to students at his namesake
Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute at Michigan State University
College of Law. He talked about his family, his reluctant journey to becoming
a lawyer, and his subsequent love for trial law.

He also shared with the future lawyers his secret to being a great trail lawyer.

“The secret, if there ever is a secret, and there isn’t really,
but the secret is to be yourself. You can’t be me. I can’t be
Gerry Spence. You can only be you …

“The only way I could ever win a case, the only way you could ever
win a case in front of a jury, if that’s what you want to do, is to
be yourself …

“I have across some slick dressed, tassel shoed guy from a law firm
who is honey and molasses to a jury, I have no problem. I’ll tell
you my problem is if somebody comes and is fumbling all over and is just
embarrassed and tries to do the best job but is a real person. Whoa, that
person is way more dangerous to me than any of the slick guys who claim
to be big talkers. If they see you as a person who is willing to come
before them with all the mistakes and foibles and all the weaknesses,
don’t be afraid of it and they’ll see you as a real person. They’ll
reach down and help you …

“It’s not about ingratiating yourself to be a phony. They don’t
like you, they will cast you away to the wind. But if you are yourself,
then you have the greatest opportunity to do what I do, which is I’m
a storyteller. I sit in front of the campfire and I tell a story …

“Know who you are. Look in the mirror … I’m not kidding you,
look in that mirror every day and say who the hell am I? Who the hell
am I and why am I me? How did I get here? How did I get here …”

GEOFFREY FIEGER IN POLITICALLY CHARGED COMMERCIAL WITH A POWERFUL MESSAGE

Jan 13, 2017

Jan 13, 2017

Attorney Geoffrey Fieger is in the spotlight after a new TV commercial
emerged with a powerful message against the Republican President-elect
Donald Trump, ending with a 2020 tagline. It left some wondering if the
Michigan attorney had presidential aspirations, to which he suggested
that they will have to, “Just keep wondering.”

In the ad, Fieger criticized the ugliness that served as the basis for
Trump’s campaign and the racism, bigotry, and misogyny that arose
from it, unveiling the worst feelings of Americans.

It is not the first time that Fieger has engaged in political discourse.
In 1998, he ran for governor, but lost to Gov. John Engler by a 62%-38%
margin. That has not stopped him from suggesting that he would run for
another political office in the future. If someone like Trump can win
the seat of the presidency, Fieger believes anything is possible. With
one political campaign under his belt, he now knows what the endeavor requires.

While Fieger has not said if he intends to run for president in the future,
he believes that it is important to stand up to Trump and what he represents.
America is a melting pot and the idea of a wall and other isolationist
ideals go against our very foundation.

His super PAC from his 1998 gubernatorial run is dissolved, but he still
has a political campaign committee, so perhaps a future run is not completely
out of the questions.
