A cause that’s near and dear to Fieger Law
Attorney Mike Russell’s heart is now easier than ever to support. The Minority Organ and
Tissue Transplant Education Progam’s 23rd Annual Detroit Life Walk/Run
is going virtual, so you can log your 5K or 10K anywhere, anytime from
July 25-Aug. 1. You can run, walk, jog or count other physical fitness
activities toward your steps.
In the past, the event has taken place on Belle Isle. This year, to accommodate
social distancing requirements due to COVID, it will occur over a one-week
period, all online.
Participants simply register at
MOTTEPlifewalk.org, print out their bib number, and track their physical fitness activities
over a one-week period, posting on social media with the hashtag #lifewalk2020
Mike Russell has supported MOTTEP since donating a kidney to his brother,
Cliff, and serves on the foundation’s board of directors.
promotional video for the event recognizes Mike’s contribution to MOTTEP’s mission.
“Cliff lived almost 20 years with that donated kidney,” said
Wayne County Treasurer Eric Sabree, honorary co-chair for the event. “Cliff
went on to be communications director for the Detroit Tigers, named to
the Wayne State University Sports Hall of Fame, have five grandkids and
his own sports program.”
Sabree added that Cliff was married at the MOTTEP walk in 1999.
