BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (June 10, 2016) – Attorney Geoffrey Fieger is officially a ‘Detroit Legend.’ Geoff was among five honorees at Child Safe Michigan‘s 2016 Detroit Legends Ball Awards, held at The Townsend Hotel on Friday, June 10.

Geoffrey and his wife, Keenie (pictured), are longtime supporters of Child Safe, a foster care, adoption and mentoring agency that serves more than 200 kids in Southeast Michigan every year.

Other “Detroit Legends” recognized by Child Safe include:
* David DiChiera, composer and founder of Michigan Opera Theatre, retiring in July after more than 50 years of service.

* Al “Mr. Tiger” Kaline, baseball hall-of-famer who spent his entire 22-year career with the Detroit Tigers.

* Rick Mahorn, known for his role on Bad Boys-era Detroit Pistons, now known as radio analyst for the team.

* Mickey Redmond, former Stanley Cup champion and record-setting hockey player, and now radio analyst for the Red Wings.

Child Safe Michigan has the only mentoring program in the state that is dedicated to serving foster care children who have been abused or neglected. There are 13,000 children in Michigan who are currently in foster care, and Child Safe aims to give kids the opportunity to be happy, healthy, loved and most importantly safe, so they can become successful adults and contribute to their community in a positive way.
