Waskowski, who has taught at Pleasantview Elementary School for three years, was arrested on December 3, 2025, at a Vermont border crossing while returning from Canada. During a records check, border patrol agents reported finding images and videos on his phone depicting prepubescent boys in sexual acts with adult men.
Following his arrest, Michigan State Police searched Waskowski’s Royal Oak home on December 5, discovering multiple electronic devices, including computers, hard drives, and an iPad. Federal agents also reported finding an external hard drive containing several thousand child pornography files. A bathroom camera disguised as a magnetic phone charging block was uncovered.
According to the criminal complaint, Waskowski admitted to federal authorities that he recorded the genitalia of a 12-year-old boy using the concealed camera in his home bathroom. He now faces federal charges of sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornography.
Waskowski has worked in education for approximately a decade. Eastpointe Community Schools immediately placed him on administrative leave after being notified by Michigan State Police and the Department of Homeland Security on December 5. The district stated it had received no prior allegations against Waskowski before the formal notification.
