Bio
As of counsel to Fieger Law, Matthew Patterson focuses his practice on obstetrical and neonatal hospital, physician, and nursing negligence cases.
Proving to be a formidable advocate at trial, Matthew has secured numerous verdicts on behalf of injured children and families to ensure they have the resources needed for the lifetime care of their children and to hold caregivers accountable for negligent treatment during birth.
Matthew was a standout student at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He graduated magna cum laude and was a member of The John Marshall Law Review. While earning Dean’s list honors every semester, Matthew also received eight CALI Awards as the law student with the highest grade in the class.
Born and raised on the North Side, Matt’s Chicago roots run deep. His father, Robert Patterson, is a premier plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer. His mother, Cathy, is a teacher at Pope John XXIII of Evanston and a regular volunteer with the Misericordia Home for individuals with disabilities where Matt also volunteers his time.
Matthew lives with his wife and best friend, Alex, and their children, Joey, Robbie, and Olivia. When not fighting for the families of children with cerebral palsy, Matt enjoys his own family time, watching local sports teams, and staying current on news and politics.
Matthew is licensed to practice in Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, Minnesota, and Michigan. Also, Matthew is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association of Justice, and the Birth Trauma Litigation Group.
