Fieger Law is closely monitoring recent developments in the news about Advait Deshmukh, a Toledo doctor who is facing criminal charges for allegedly placing a hidden camera in a staff bathroom at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. You don’t have to face this alone. Reach out to our team today.
Deshmukh, who was a University of Toledo-employed resident in the Department of Urology continuing his education and training at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, was indicted on January 13, 2026, on 15 counts of voyeurism and one count of tampering with evidence.
The hidden cameras were discovered in June 2025 in a private staff area at the hospital.
ProMedica’s police department identified Deshmukh as the suspect on the day of discovery. It remains unclear how long the cameras had been in place or what specific evidence led investigators to identify Deshmukh as the suspect. The nature of the footage captured and the number of individuals potentially recorded have not been disclosed.
Following the discovery, ProMedica took immediate action by banning Deshmukh from all ProMedica facilities. The hospital also collaborated with the Toledo Police Department and the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office throughout the investigation.
Deshmukh is expected to appear before a Lucas County Common Pleas judge in the coming days.
