SOUTHFIELD, MI (June 16, 2016) – Fieger Law Partner James J. Harrington IV issued the following statement regarding the fatal alligator attack in Orlando, Fla. on Tuesday:

“We offer our deepest condolences to the Graves family, whose 2-year-old son, Lane, was attacked and killed by an alligator in Orlando this week. It is unconscionable that Disney World Resorts failed to properly warn and take precautions to protect visitors from the dangerous predators living in the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Disney created an atmosphere of relaxation and comfort, and a safe place for children to play, knowing dangerous alligators were just a few steps away from the play area. They betrayed the Graves family by failing to protect and warn them and their other guests. Unfortunately, one family’s dream vacation turned into a nightmare because of Disney’s inaction against a known danger. We join the nation in mourning this shocking tragedy.”
