$144.5M Birth Trauma Verdict Upheld

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Attorney Geoffrey Fieger announced on Oct. 29, 2014 that the Michigan Court of Appeals unanimously upheld his record-setting $144.5 Million Dollar Verdict in the case of Markell Van Slembrouck vs. William Beaumont Hospital.
According to the National Law Journal, the verdict was the largest of its kind in the U.S. for the year 2011.
“This decision not only assures that Markell, who is totally and permanently disabled as a result of horrible malpractice, will finally get justice after 17 years, but also, that the rule of law still prevails in Michigan, and that the big money interests of hospitals and insurance companies cannot always prevent unborn babies from having a jury give them their day in court," Geoffrey said.
